Villandry, the perfect gardens model

Villandry is the last château to have been built during the Renaissance in the Loire Valley. Its understated elegance combined with the charm of its remarkable gardens make of this castle one of the jewels of the world heritage. Mister Carvallo undertook to reinvent the fabulous gardens at the beginning of the 20th century.

Chenonceau, the Lady’s Château

From its feminine elegance, it is a gem of the Renaissance, with rich furniture and masters paintings. Laying over the Cher, a Loire tributary, this chateau is the work of 3 passionate 15th century women. Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medicis gardens are not to be missed either.

Wine tasting in a troglodyte cellar

Wine tasting (varietal: Chenin Blanc) in an 11th troglodytic cellar that formerly served as a quarry. After visiting part of the several kilometers of subterranean galleries, you will taste three different Vouvray wines, all produced from the same varietal, and you will learn about the “traditional method” that produces bubbles, just as in Champagne
