TOUR # 1 - Les Alpilles
 

Your local English speaking driver guide will be meeting you at your boat for a tour including:

 - the well famous city of Arles with its several antiques such as the arenas, the Roman Theatre and the places Van Gogh had painted.

- Charming road in countryside

- Walking in perched medieval and renaissance village of les Baux de Provence with its little pedestrian hilly streets and its nice shops.

-If time left : Visit of an olive Oil Mill or wine tasting in Côtes des Baux de Provence vineyards

 

TOUR # 2 - Luberon Villages
 

Lourmarin where we will have the opportunity to see the wonderful castle (short pictures shooting stop)

Road along Lourmarin Gorges

Bonnieux A little walk to the top of the hill where we will have a wonderful view over the famous village of Lacoste (Marquis de Sade Castle)

On Saturday the big traditional market of Apt will propose its Provencal fruits and local products, otherwise there are many other markets around depending of the day.

Village of Roussillon, a colorful old village with its ocres query….

Free time for lunch there

Next departure to visit the perched village of Gordes,  walking tour to discover the narrow streets and old heritage of this very attractive village

If time left  short visit to see the Abbey of Sénanque  (Cistercian abbey)


TOUR # 3 - Marseilles and Cassis

The steps of the tour are :

  • The Old Port, the Fort St Jean and view over the port  from the terrace of St Nicolas Church, pass the city hall and Cathedral  

  • Visit of the Notre Dame de La Garde site located on the  top of a hill with a tremendous view over the city  

  • Promenade along the seaside on the “Corniche Kennedy”  and stop at the Vallon des Auffes (a chance to meet  old fishermen) and  discover this very precious and quiet little creek  

  • Promenade du Prado : the well-off area and Garden  

  • Departure for Cassis  little fishing port (lunch on your own + a chance to make a boat cruise in the little creeks along the coast.

Stop along the way if time allows


TOUR # 4 - Avignon and St Remy de Provence

Avignon (Palais des Papes, rocher des doms, vieille ville) : the drive will take you to a nice spot to have the best view over the pop Palace, then we will go downtown for the Pope Palace visit (about 2 hours visit) .
Saint Remy de Provence
-Paddling in Saint Remy de Provence (charming and historical village chosen by many artist after Van Gogh himself)

Visit of Van Gogh’s Hospital and return through the nice countryside        

TOUR # 5 - Wine and Gastronomy

Option 1 : Begin near Aix en Provence with some vineyard of the south Luberon (Côteaux d’Aix en Provence & côtes de Provence), visit of the vineyard and the wine cellars.  Road towards Les Baux de Provence : a very good organic Côte des Baux de Provence wine with also a visit of the vineyard and the cellar as well as a wine tasting.

 Option 2 : Chateauneuf du pape famous winery : wine degustation  + gastronomic restaurant in Châteauneuf (not included)
