The tour starts from the peculiar Central market zone, characterized by its workshops and multicolored stalls, where the Medicean Chapels, and Basilica di S. In a short time you can reach Piazza del Duomo, where you can admire the Cathedral* (inside visit) and its dome by Brunelleschi, the bell-tower by Giotto, Saint John Baptistery with its Paradise Door. It has been built into a characteristic “hollow” (an old cellar). In this romantic atmosphere, under arches and vaults dating back to 1200, a candlelit typical Tuscan dinner is served with excellent Chianti wine. Be seduced by the eternal charm of the Tuscan art cities where the beauty of the monuments is linked with the rhythm of life that is still on a human scale and where every stone exudes centuries of history.
Through the typical Tuscan countryside hilly territory we reach Siena, splendid medieval city, universally known for its artistic treasures that has been recognized by the UNESCO as a "heritage of the humanity". Once in Siena, we will visit the famous Piazza del Campo, with its particular "shell" shape.
Here are the Palazzo Comunale (1298) flanked by the tall Torre del Mangia (1325) and where every year the famous "Palio" takes place.
You may use your free time to visit the splendid Cathedral, one of the highest artistic expressions of the Middle Ages, and admire the splendid buildings and suggestive churches along the narrow lively streets. From Siena, we will take a panoramic road and admire the vineyards and olive groves in the heart of the Chianti territory on our way to the ancient fortified hamlet of Monteriggioni, a small jewel built during the thirteenth century and embraced by its still intact walls.
Take a walk within the restricted perimeter of the surrounding walls with eleven towers and discover a beautiful corner of Tuscany suspended in the Middle Ages.
A short distance away, in a pleasant country estate surrounded by aromatic plants, you will be served a lunch of typical Chianti products and a guided tasting a selection of fine Chianti and Vernaccia wines, managed with passion and expertise by the friendly owner of the farm. After lunch we leave the farm and at a short distance away we find San Gimignano, another beautiful town, UNESCO world heritage, famous for the still intact medieval town planning with the numerous and beautiful towers hence the name "Manhattan of the Middle Ages". This town is also known for the "Vernaccia" wine, produced here.

Enter the heart of real Tuscany with medieval villages of incomparable charm, an ancient farming tradition that produces wine, cheese, cold cuts and excellent meat renowned and appreciated all over the world even today.
The beauty of the landscape declines harmoniously where nature and the works of man have lived together for centuries in an unbeatable balance.
Through the hilly expanses of the old vineyards and olive groves, which characterise the splendid Chianti territory we reach Greve where we you will enjoy the charm of its historic square flanked by open galleries and wander around the characteristic shops of local handicrafts and the typical Chianti products.
We continue with a stop in Castellina, a characteristic ancient hamlet perched on a hill, where we visit a suggestive and historical cellar.
Just outside the village, in one of the most famous vineyards of the area, you will be guided through a tasting of different wines of the Chianti area, extra virgin olive oil on Tuscan bread, vin santo with "cantuccini" locally produced and lavender honey.
Proceeding along a panoramic road we can admire the picturesque village of Monteriggioni, a small medieval jewel still surrounded by its ancient walls.
Further on, the unmistakable clay landscape clay of the Crete Senesi, a hilly desert territory that rouses unforgettable feelings.
Continuing we reach an area that contrasts incredibly with the Crete territory, immersed in the green Val d'Orcia, UNESCO heritage, a harmonious landscape of hills dotted with cypresses, interrupted by castles, churches, ancient villages of Etruscan origin and farms that accompany the route of the famous "Via Francigena".
Here, in a historic farm, you will be served a guided lunch-tasting of the renowned Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello and Supertuscan wines and a large selection of typical products of the territory and a delicious homemade fruit pie. All this is followed by a visit to the cellars and some leisure time to enjoy the nature. We then make a stop in the medieval village of Montalcino, with boundary walls enriched with towers, with the imposing fourteenth century fortress that offers one of the most beautiful views onto Val d’Orcia.

It is a refined city of art, surrounded by renaissance style tree-lined walls, interrupted by beautiful doors and impressive bastions.
You can start with a beautiful walk along a stretch of the city walls, enjoy a wonderful overview on roofs, alleys, tower-houses, wonderful churches and aristocratic palaces of the city, and then move into the historical town centre, which is easy to visit because of its dimensions.
Discover Piazza S. Michele, the heart of the city, with the splendid Basilica in white limestone (12th – 14th century) and the splendid Palazzo Pretorio.
Pass by the characteristic shops overlooking the squares and narrow roads and reach Piazza del Mercato where you can admire the particular shape built on the tracks of the Roman amphitheatre dating back to the second century BC.
Then visit the famous Gothic Cathedral of San Martino (11th century) with the sculptural masterpiece of the tomb of Ilaria del Carretto and discover the characteristic Torre Guinigi with a huge holm on the top.

S4 - The enchantment of the Ligurian coast: Cinque Terre and Portovenere

Following the roads suspended between sky and sea with medieval villages of fishermen tenaciously clinging onto the rocks admire the charm of the pastel colored houses from the sea, the bell towers and olive trees that lean out from the terracing, until discovering at the extremity of this embracing coast the magic of a village celebrated by Byron and Shelley.
Driving through the "azure motorway" along a stretch of Tyrrhenian coast, we will enjoy the sight of the white marble quarries of the Apuan Alps, then we enter the Ligurian territory reaching Riomaggiore, the beautiful village of the Cinque Terre, characterized by medieval colored tower-houses, steps, alleys and small squares, between two steep hilly terracings.
From here, you will take a stroll along the famous and romantic "Via dell’Amore", a smooth and suggestive walk on the cliffs leading to Manarola, the small village of the Cinque Terre in the gorge of a high promontory among vines, olive trees and fragrant Mediterranean maquis.
We continue by uncovering Vernazza, one of the "Most Beautiful Hamlets in Italy", a jewel perched on a rocky promontory, which stretches out towards the sea with a small port against green hills, carved into terracings created by men.
Admire the houses from the beach with the colors tarnished by salt, disappear among the lanes with dozens of shops and be tempted by the seafood cuisine in a typical restaurant.
You will admire the beauty of these beautiful places from the sea in a “boat” along the stretch between Vernazza and Portovenere: one hour of navigation embracing the arch of the beautiful rugged coast that welcomes the picturesque villages just visited.

Crossing the Tuscan countryside, the first town we meet is Passignano sul Trasimeno, a small medieval hamlet with city walls and a beautiful fortress, a famous tourist resort and a magical location to viewpoint onto the enchanting lake and islands.
After this visit we proceed through evocative landscapes until we reach the hill on which the ancient city of Perugia rises.
Evidence of its Etruscan origin is preserved in the travertine walls and in the well located in the village centre. Perugia is one of the popular Italian cities of art, with a beautiful square in which you can admire real architectural jewels like the superb Palazzo dei Priori (1293-1443) and the splendid Cathedral (1345) placed beside the Loggia (1423), and one of the masterpieces of sculpture with an invaluable artistic value (13th century), the elegant Fontana Maggiore (1275).
The excursion continues until reaching the beautiful places where the patron saint of Italy, Saint Francis of Assisi (1181- 1226) lived, worked and died.
On a lowland at the foot of Mount Subasio, the hill on which Assisi rises we first visit the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, built around as a protection of the famous little church of the "Porziuncola", where Saint Francis acknowledged his vocation and founded the Order of the Minor Friars.
In this place even Santa Chiara began her monastic life. Here you can also see the "rosebush without thorns", which continues to
grow only in this magic place and that, according to a legend, originated from the contact of the Saint with a thorny bush.
After the lunch break we reach the centre of Assisi where you will meet up with an expert local Guide who will accompany you on an exciting visit to the civil and religious artistic heritage of the city.
